This event will be BSL Interpreted
Get ready to be amazed by the new residents of a Kent woodland – European bison!
Discover how these majestic creatures are being introduced in an experiment to increase the forest’s biodiversity and store more carbon in the soil. With DNA sequencing, museum scientists will measure the changes in species as the bison graze on tree branches, bark, and grasses, engineering the forest. Join us to learn how this rewilding project could reverse the losses in biodiversity and lock up carbon in healthy forests, grasslands, peat bogs, and other important habitats.
Hear from museum scientist Piotr Cuber and be inspired by the potential of rewilding projects.
