Ben Osborne x Chris Coco b2b

part of Noise of Sound
x The Chill Tent Takeover

12:00-16:00
Sunday 18 June
DJ in the Dunes

Long term DJ sparring partners Ben Osborne (Noise of Art) and Chris Coco (The Chill Out Tent) get Sunday’s party on the beach going with a back-to-back session of Disco, Funk, Balearic and House. Come dancing on the shoreline, with the sand between your toes.

With two decades of collaboration between them, after work-schedules took them in different directions, Chris and Ben finally re-united behind the decks during the pandemic; playing Balearic afternoon sessions together as soon as Covid restrictions allowed.

Ben and Chris will be joined by familiar faces throughout Sunday – full line up to be announced soon…

Chris started DJing in the acid house explosion of the late 80s, before going Balearic after a revelatory experience at Cafe Del Mar – where he became one of the core DJs and producers. Chris was part of seminal house act Coco Steel & Lovebomb, founding editor of DJ Magazine, co-presenter of Radio 1’s late night show The Blue Room, with Rob Da Bank, global tour DJ for Robbie Williams and is a prolific producer of chill out and Balearic albums. In recent years he has become a sunset specialist, spending the summers soundtracking sunsets in Ibiza and Italy; as well as keeping his many Mixcloud and international radio listeners hooked to his weekly, eclectic Melodica radio show. His current projects include The Chill Out Tent, live festival and online events, producing for Balearic duo Nick & Samantha, numerous collaborative and remix projects and a forthcoming album, Daydream Utopia.

Described as a “polymath” by Time Out, Ben Osborne is a DJ, award-winning creative producer, founder of Noise of Art (“an actual Cathedral of Sound” The Guardian) and writer. He DJs internationally at festivals and clubs, has written Amazon top 10 selling music books and presented his own radio shows on Xfm, NME Radio and Slack City radio stations. A multi genre artist, he’s pioneered regular late night music events in galleries in London at places such as The Tate, National Theatre and BFI Southbank, as well as immersive film experiences, along with silent film and electronic music events, in clubs, festivals and arts institutions. His projects have included collaborations with such diverse acts as Booka Shade, Coldcut, Aluna (George), Jazzie B/ Soul II Soul, Lemon Jelly, The Beatles, Martyn Ware (Human League and Heaven 17) and Laurent Garnier. As well as venues, he’s DJ’ed unusual places, including on top of BT Tower. He is currently working on projects in three dimensional sound and spatial mixing.
