The Norwich Astronomical Society will explain how the interaction of the Moon, Earth and Sun create and control the tides we observe on Earth. This explanation will also cover the tidal effect of the Earth on the Moon as well as that of the Sun on Mercury and Venus.

They’ll have solar scopes available for visitors to safely observe the Sun during daylight and telescopes to observe objects in the sky at night (assuming clear skies).

The Society will also have displays of Radio Astronomy, Muon detection and how this relates to relativity as well as InfraRed imaging and its use on the Webb Space Telescope.
