Our Welcome the Light festival opening music performance is based on the the well-known song, House of the Rising Sun – said to have its origins in Lowestoft, being about a local old-time drinking house The Rising Sun. Developed through a project with young students from Lowestoft secondary schools and members of the Britten Pears Arts Group A project, a reimagined version of the song, that reflects Lowestoft today, will be performed with country music duo Lincoln Skins, Katie Hewitt, Group A, East Point Academy, My Rock Choir, Pakefield Primary School, Pakefield High School, The Seagull Community Groups and The Rabble Chorus.

The Rabble Chorus will then join Lincoln Skins for a few more songs as we celebrate the opening of the 2024 festival by celebrating our town and our community.
