Meet the Curators and Presenters

Across the weekend and across the beach

Meet this year’s programme curators and presenters who will introduce artists and entertain you across our stages and zones  throughout the festival weekend.

 

Sunlight Stage: Amy Nomvula
Amy’s broadcasting career so far has seen her presenting and producing for BBC Radio Norfolk, BBC Radio Suffolk, in addition to her long standing show, Innate Sounds, on Future Radio. There’s every chance you may have caught Amy out and about creating and supporting community projects or on a dancefloor in her role as a DJ.

 

First Word: Luke Wright
Poet, theatre-maker, and broadcaster Luke Wright marries his inventive writing with breath-taking performance skills to take audiences on an incredible emotional journey. He’s the regular tour support for John Cooper Clarke and often MCs shows for The Libertines. He’s a regular on Radio 4 and has won a Fringe First for writing , a Stage Award for performance, and four Saboteur Awards.

 

First Word: Brigitte Aphrodite
Brigitte Aphrodite is a critically-acclaimed neurodivergent punk poet, Gig theatre-maker & intersectional feminist show-woman from Greece and Kent. She makes joyful, accessible, genre-crossing work. She’s toured with artists such as Kate Nash and Josie Long, and has written four critically-acclaimed theatre shows and is a Ronnie Scott’s kazoo playing champion!

 

First Word: Laura Lexx
Multi award winning stand up star and viral sensation Laura Lexx is one of the most firmly established as one of the most sought after headliners on the UK and international comedy circuits.

 

Interstellar Ideas: Gareth Evans
London-based writer, editor, film/event producer & host and documentary mentor. He works on special projects for the London Review of Books and has curated their Screen at Home as well as co-curating the Forum of the Future Porto, Estuary, First Light, Flipside, Whitstable Biennale and Swedenborg Film Festivals.

 

New Dawn: Angelle Joseph
BBC Suffolk Freelance broadcaster presenting BBC Introducing in Suffolk and Belongings. Angelle loves new music, communities and engaging with young people. She works with Independent Venue Community and Future Female Society to inspire young people in media/music in local venues.
