The Planet Positive tent is where you’ll be able to meet the scientists at the forefront of modern research across the weekend. With our partners from the Natural History Museum explore the hidden worlds of coastal biodiversity; with Cefas (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) Discovery Zone learn about their research on how the marine environment in the UK is changing, with the Later Prehistoric Norfolk Project find out about fascinating archeological digs on our doorstep and with Norwich Astronomical Society delve into their displays on various aspects of space science and astronomy.

Interstellar Ideas on the Beach will have a super star lineup of talks and conversations with creatives, authors, scientists and researchers on issues around the climate, featuring a performance of Phoenix Dodo Butterfly, the Dockside Dandies with Peter Wylie and Wayne Hemingway on how charity shop finds helped unearth a unique Lowestoft story; Universe of Music.  With the best marine science from Cefas Director Michaela and Natural History Museum, Senior Curator in Charge of Mollusca, Jon Ablett, on the collections at the museum.

Charity Super.MKT

Coming to Planet Positive for the first time ever this year Charity Super.MKT is going to get your passion for fashion pulses racing. You’ll be able to shop from a curated collection of quality, second-hand fashion, and accessories, brought to you by the nation’s best charity retailers.

We’ll also have fabulous fashion advisers and up cyclers on hand to take your garms to the next level, and you can wear your treasures on the Community Catwalk at the end of each day!

Making Waves Workshop

Join Norwich University of the Arts in creating a community mural! Use a range of materials and tools to make your mark on our Lowestoft themed wall. A fun arts and crafts activity for all ages where you can create contribute to a large scale art piece joining the community of those created by other festival goers!

Messums East Arthub

Presented by Messums East Art Hub, who are developing an exciting new gallery, studio and cafe space,  in the Old Post Office on London Road North, Lowestoft.  Messums East presents an inaugural talks programme as part of our Planet Positive zone on the beach, exploring the concept of ‘Old Knowledge, New Thoughts including sculptor Laurence Edwards talk about the Walking Men bronzes that are on the beach.
