Playbreak is our apply-to-play for bands and artists aged 25 and over either from, or with strong connections to Lowestoft.  It’s our way of showcasing the fantastic talent to be found in our local music scene and as well as programming a range of Playbreak musicians across the weekend, one lucky act is given opportunity to play a headline set on our main Sunlight Stage.

First Light Festival’s 2024 Playbreak headliner is the Lowestoft legend, Cam T.  Cam is a well-known musician from the town and can often be seen busking in the High Street.  Alongside entertaining the community, Cam has been working hard, writing and releasing his own vibrant pop songs and playing sell-out shows with his band in venues such as The Waterfront in Norwich. Cam’s performance on the Festival’s main stage on Saturday afternoon is sure to warm the hearts of so many local people who have supported his journey this far and we’re really excited to see this special moment!

Cam was selected by a panel of industry professionals from a total of 90 applications to Playbreak.

We are also delighted that our new partnership with Latitude Festival means that Cam has also been given the chance to play at this iconic local festival in July.

Look out for other Playbreak acts who have been programmed across the First Light weekend, where they will be playing in Kensington Gardens and also in a special Playbreak Showcase at East Point Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.
