Jake Raywood

21:15-22:00 Gardens Stage
Saturday 18 June
Jake Raywood is a self producing singer-songwriter who takes inspiration from classic songwriting from artists like Elliott Smith and Nick Drake and uses it to examine mundane, everyday experiences and elevate them to a place of beauty. Their sound is gentle and vulnerable and their recordings harness closeness to create intimacy which sits silhouetted against the sparseness of minimal instrumental arrangements.
They perform regularly in Norwich, most recently supporting Kitty Perrin and Alexander Carson at Norwich Arts Centre on the final night of their UK tour. They’ve also played at Wild Paths in 2021 on the BBC Introducing Norfolk stage and performed at the Young Norfolk Arts Festival in 2020.
They have released a number of recordings, their latest showcases experiences and feelings all linked to the Waveney through family, childhood memories, and interpersonal relationships.
In May 2022 Jake Raywood took part in the first First Light Festival / Britten Pears Arts Creative Retreat programme.
