The Marijanovic

11:05-11:30 New Dawn
Sunday 19 June
The Marijanovic channels dark brooding swathes of analogue synths, tribalistic drum beats overlaid with vulnerable torch song lyrics. ‘High of cheekbone’ with Bladerunner hair The Marijanovic is ‘Marc Almond’s’ ‘Soft Cell’ meets ‘Trent Reznor’ at the 80’s ‘Blitz Club’ on a Saturday night.
Originally of Serbian heritage, Kyle spent his youth in the Naval base town of Portsmouth and later moved to North Walsham in Norfolk. Kyle’s old Serbian family name ‘Marijanovic’ has become his tag/stage name which he wears as a badge of honour. Drawing inspiration from bands such as ‘Waterparks’ and ‘Placebo’ The Marijanovic has made inroads in the county of Norfolk over the last year playing; Wild Craft Brewery, Head Out Not Home, Wild Paths Festival, Latitude Festival, and Ipswich Sound City. These shows have seen him share the stage with luminaries such as ‘Billy Nomates’, ‘Chubby & the Gang’, ‘Damon Albarn’, ‘Wolf Alice’ and ‘Workingman’s Club’.
