The Old Man and the Sea
Sunday 23 June 2019
10:30 – 12:00
Join us for the First Light Festival finale – The Old Man and the Sea, written and performed by the people of Lowestoft with Snape Malting’s Group A.
84 days without a catch, the old fisherman sets sail to prove himself once more. What follows is a mystical adventure of opportunity, hope, failure and victory on the ocean waves. Using the seas as myth, metaphor, inspiration and backdrop, The Old Man and the Sea is an immersive community opera co-written and performed by the people of Lowestoft. Come and be enveloped by the old man’s story. Come to take charge of the old man’s fate. Come, come and Celebrate The Sea!
