Dawn

03:30-06:30
Sunday 23 June
DJ in the Dunes

Come and join us at DJ in the Dunes as we turn to face the East and breath in and out with the motion of the waves and the rising of the sun.

03:30-04:00 Gather at dawn

Suffolk piper Graham Macausland will bring a celtic connection to our dawn celebration to celebrate the Cardinal Points, our festival theme.

04:00-04:30 Alex Costello

Will he manage to jump over the sun at dawn? Only time will tell…

Alex Costello

04:00 – 04:30 Yoga and breathwork

04:30-04:45 Steve Pretty: Whorl – Dawn Shells

Our Artist in Residence brings his conch shells to create a looped phonic soundscape at dawn. Conches have a long coastal history of resonance around the world.  The greek god Triton was said to control the ocean’s waves by blowing his conch-shell trumpet. Let’s see what Steve can do on South Beach!

04:45-05:15 (led by the heart) my feet will follow

A sonic exploration of landscapes both real and imagined, composer Alex Groves has worked closely with viola player Nic Pendlebury to create a score of forking paths, shortcuts and long ways home.

05:15-06:30  Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy

Our headline DJ plays us out of dawn and into the day with her Balearic Breakfast mix of old and new, fast and slow. In the words of Cosmo herself, expect a “hodge-podge of chill out, spiritual jazz, deep soul, percussive house, quirky disco, indie-dance and what may ‘traditionally’ be called ‘balearic’ (whatever that may be).”
