Never heard of it? Well, come and join Klezmerized! for a barn dance Yiddish style and find out what it’s all about!
Much like traditional ceilidhs, klezmer dances don’t require any experience or partner and will be led and explained by their caller Chris Davis. The dances originate in the repertoire of Jewish wedding music from eastern Europe, mostly dating back to the 19th century.
They can have a specific form that will be taught beforehand, or they are designed for everyone to just join in, following the leader and copying him.
Klezmerized! is a four piece band based in Norwich, who has enjoyed sharing the music with audiences in Norfolk and Suffolk since 2010.
