Interstellar Ideas on the Beach

The ocean is Earth’s life support system. It regulates our climate, holds 97% of Earth’s water and supports a unique web of life.  It also provides a source of food, income and recreation. We have historically used certain parts of the ocean over others, leading to widespread deterioration.

Join Dr Michaela Schratzberger to find out about the current state of the ocean. What threats is it facing? How can we safeguard the ocean for future generations to enjoy and benefit from? Michaela will explain why there cannot be a healthy planet without a healthy ocean. She will explore why and how scientists study the ocean, and how science helps to identify sustainable patterns of ocean use and protection.
