First Light Festival 2026 – Highlights Announcement.

SUMMER STARTS HERE
Celebrate the midsummer sunrise…

Now in our sixth year, we’re back on the beach for a full weekend of live music, dance, storytelling, art, science, workshops, wellbeing sessions and loads of family-friendly fun.

We’re also very excited to share the first names joining us on the beach this year: 6Music DJ, broadcaster and music label owner Jamz Supernova; folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman; sound artist, nature beatboxer, composer and DJ Jason Singh; and comedian and Fast Show writer Simon Day.

The solstice celebrations don’t stop there. Expect sunrise yoga, a fish feast, and Jason Singh’s Suraj (Punjabi for ‘Sun’) — an immersive, long-form sound experience created for deep listening as dawn breaks. Blending nature field recordings with live vocalised percussion and inspired by the morning raga Bhairav, it’s a beautifully meditative way to welcome the day and connect with the world around you.

We’re also thrilled to be working with Britten Pears Arts on a brand-new co-commission for the summer solstice. Turkish-born singer-songwriter, composer and interdisciplinary artist Tendertwin will create a new piece marking the 50th anniversary year of Benjamin Britten’s death, connecting his birthplace and final home. Written for a small ensemble with participatory elements, the work explores cycles of life and existence, drawing inspiration from lunar and tidal energy and the rhythms of nature.

And yes — our Wild Beach Campsite and Cliff Top Campervans are back – both exclusively open for the festival weekend only. It’s the only chance to camp on a beach anywhere in England, putting you just steps from the festival action, while campervans get to soak up the views from a special clifftop spot.

NEW FOR 2026! Fancy upgrading your Festival camping experience? We’ve teamed up with CampRolo to offer fully fitted, beautifully furnished VW campervans for hire — festival life, but make it comfy.
