Year of the Dog are a brass-house-soul powerhouse, blending magnetic energy with a soulful edge to create a live experience that moves both bodies and hearts.

About

Hailing from Cardiff and Bristol, their home-stage roots run deep, packing out iconic venues such as The Globe and Thekla. Storming across the festival scene, Year of the Dog continues to prove why they’re one of the most exciting bands to watch. From their early days at the Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama in 2018 to wowing audiences at Kendal Calling, Cheltenham Jazz, Cardiff LGBTQ+ Pride, and across Europe, this BBC Introducingbacked band is building a reputation that transcends borders.

2026 is a landmark year for the six-piece, releasing their highly anticipated debut album, Break Loose, produced by Abbey Road’s Rob Cass, recorded at Rockfield Studios (Queen, Oasis, Coldplay), and crowdfunded by their ever-growing fanbase.

The five-piece who formed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2018 (the last Year of the Dog in the Chinese zodiac calendar) are also recognised for their star appearance as Swing Band in Netflix’s smash hit series, Sex Education, performing single Run These Streets in series 1, ep 3.
