Echo Located

Echo Located is a folk-pop musician who uses a loop pedal, which is a clever little box that lets the user layer up sounds as you go. Echo has used this to their advantage, having previously felt limited when performing with just a guitar in hand. They are resourceful, and somewhat lazy. When the song requires percussion, they scan their surroundings. Being clumsy has its perks. They have kept a bag full of broken glass. When it hits the ground, it creates a satisfying crash sound.

Pinecones have been used as shakers, brushed crochet hooks across bumpy surfaces, and yes, the guitar has also been slapped a fair bit. They stack
vocals and guitar to create a unique blend of vulnerability and strength, often preferring the sound of multiple melodies harmonizing with each other over strumming patterns on the guitar. (That’s what they say, but in truth, they only learned the one).

Having grown up in the countryside, a lot of their songs centre around themes of nature. They find cruelty and kindness and how they coalesce
infinitely fascinating, and attempt to capture a little bit of that essence into every song they create. They also like animal-shaped mugs and will accept offers of new dishware.
