Grounded Movement, debuted at Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention 2013, is a company that produce work inspired by African derived, social and street dance culture.

They are committed to creating culturally and socially relevant and impactful work that bridges the gap between dance, music and words.
Co-founders Temujin Gill and Sunanda Biswas have over 30 years’ experience in dance and theatre ranging from developing professional work such as Ragtime to Grime and Set Our Feet in Glory, to hosting Social and Hip Hop dance events and directing community performance productions.
Testament to their commitment to producing high quality work came with the honor they received, when asked to join Danny Boyle’s award-winning Creative Team, as lead choreographers for the NHS section of London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
They are delighted to return to First Light Festival with Ring & Shout Dance Party and Funk Your Soul. Join Grounded Movement founders Temujin and Sunanda for two fun filled and joyous whistle stop social dance experiences. From Cakewalk, Charleston and Lindy Hop to 60’s, Funk Dances, Hip Hop and more. Suitable for all abilities and guaranteed to get everyone dancing.
