About

Cambridge based singer-songwriter Melody Coles has literally lived the folk scene her entire life, growing up sleeping in guitar cases while her parents performed. Today, she takes the stage with her own guitar in hand, delivering folk infused storytelling that explores the raw realities of motherhood, life, and finding your place in the world.

After bursting onto the scene with BBC Radio 1 airplay, a Thatchers Sessions appearance presented by Huw Stephens, and support slots for the likes of Megson and Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, Melody took a break to raise her two children. Now, she is back on the road with a matured, richly emotive sound.

Often performing as a trio alongside her father, Bryan Causton (mandolin), and cellist Simon, Melody brings a captivating, multi generational dynamic to her live shows. Fresh off a successful 2025 gigging season, including supporting Brìghde Chaimbeul, Melody is back where she belongs: captivating audiences with her rich, ethereal voice, honest stage chat, and relatable songs.
