Samuel Taylor
Samuel Taylor is a Suffolk-based indie folk artist. At just 23, his debut EP, Lost & Overgrown, has been described as a ‘beautiful collection of songs’ by Andrew Davie of Bear’s Den and ‘beautifully affecting’ by Clash magazine.
About
Raised in rural Suffolk, Samuel spent his childhood teaching himself to play his dad’s banjo from old bluegrass records. An introduction in sixth form to indie folk by a music teacher led him to discover his major influences: Bear’s Den, Johnny Flynn and Laura Marling.
After studying contemporary music at college, Samuel played his first songs to producer and musician Jesse Quin (Keane, Mt. Desolation), who signed him immediately to his No Roads Records label in 2025.
Samuel’s first single, Little World, released September 2025, received immediate playlist support from Apple New Music Daily and Notion: Undiscovered, and widespread radio play across BBC Introducing (‘Incredible’ – Angelle Joseph) and Amazing Radio (‘Delightful’ – Jim Gellatly).
Atwood magazine said: ‘”You can almost hear the rivers and forests of his childhood in the space between the notes, a rare ability to turn solitude into song, and song into solace.”
In November 2025, Samuel released his second single, I Just Hope, while supporting Tommy Ashby’s UK and European tour in Ipswich. His debut EP, Lost & Overgrown, was released in January 2026, and prompted Dean Jackson from BBC’s The Beat to describe him as a ‘rare talent’.
