New Dawn is our platform for the freshest emerging sounds that East Anglia has to offer, selected from an open callout by a panel of leading industry experts. Original, bold and new music on the beach.
This year’s New Dawn will be headlined by $ebbuku, a relentless rapper, producer and stereo warrior whose explosive self-taught production and electric live performances blew our panel away. $ebbuku will be joined across the festival weekend by the likes of Retro Firefly, Tiah Jean, Esme Emerson and Grace Calver.

What is New Dawn?
New Dawn is our year-round programme that connects emerging young musicians from the East with gigging opportunities, peer support and career progressing experiences. Each year, we invite artists from Norfolk & Suffolk aged 14-25 to apply to play at First Light, putting their music infront of a panel of music industry experts which includes Access Creative College, BBC Introducing and Wild Paths Festival and noted regional individuals.
Since 2022, we’ve had applications from over 150 early stage musicians, platforming over 60 of them at the festival and at East Point Pavilion, our new hub of music and community on Lowestoft’s Seafront.
