First Light Festival presents Longest Days of Summer

Visit the Beach of Dreams – a spectacular installation of 500 individually designed silk flags on Lowestoft South Beach on 26th and 27th June.

The Light Returns
First Light Festival has commissioned John to compose a new song 'The Light Returns' - a celebration of First Light’s themes of day and night, the sea and the elements, and the history and future of Lowestoft.

Wheel
Wheel is an 18ft installation that evokes a wheel of time, made as a collaboration between locals - artist John Christie, Richard Paine of My Metal Fabrications and Shell Shock pyrotechnics.

How Night Came from the Sea
Wonderful Beast, the theatre company of myths, legends, folk and fairy tales, partners with First Light Festival to present ‘How Night Came from the Sea’.

Dusk Dance
Set against the darkening sky over the North sea, choreographer Rosemary Lee’s Dusk Dance is inspired by the folk traditions of men dancing together on the winter solstice and the seasonal and earthly cycles that shape us.
