Welcome Happy Campers!
Pitch your tent under the stars and set up camp amongst the dunes for the full festival experience. First Light offers the unique opportunity to camp on the UK’s most easterly beach, a stones-throw from the Festival site.
For 2022, we’re opening up our pop-up campsite for two nights across the Festival weekend, on Saturday, and as part of our pre-Festival warm up, Friday on the Beach.
This isn’t glamping, but what we lack in luxury, we make up for in sunrises, lapping waves and unforgettable experiences.
For 2022, we’re also offering Campervan Pitches!
Considerations before booking Wild Beach Camping.
Camping on the beach is a pretty special experience, but not as straight forward as camping in a field!
Here are 10 things to bear in mind before booking Wild Beach Camping:
+ The campsite opens from 5pm on Friday night for campers staying 2 nights, and 11am for Saturday only campers. The campsite must be clear by 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
+ We have to limit the tent size to a 4 person tent. This is for practical and safety reasons due to the nature of the area so please DO NOT bring anything bigger than this.
+ There is no vehicle access to the beach, and this includes campervans which will be in a separate area (book campervan pitches here). You will need to carry everything to the campsite so best to go basic.
+ There will be toilets and drinking water available, however there will not be showers or washing facilities.
+ Unfortunately, we can’t allow fires on the campsite or BBQs, however why not join us at the campfire on the beach by the Sunlight stage?
+ Although there will be always security on site, belongings are left at your own risk so please leave valuables at home.
+ Leave no trace – you must take EVERYTHING you bring to the campsite home with you.
+ And finally – please leave dogs at home! They are not allowed on most of the festival site due to summer season beach rules so it just wouldn’t be fun for them.
Access: The Wild Beach Camping site is situated on the beach, with soft sand and uneven terrain, therefore might not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
We will send you further details regarding the campsite and your booking in a welcome email prior to your arrival.
